Dynamic Simulation of an Oxygen-Hydrogen Combustion Turbine System Using Modelica

Introducing hydrogen power generation in the industry may contribute to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Hydrogen mixed-fuel gas turbines are available, and pure hydrogen-fueled being developed. Meanwhile, systems based on oxygen–hydrogen combustion have been devised. Such system uses as fuel oxygen oxidizer, yielding only water vapor byproduct of combustion. In addition, performs a semi-closed cycle involving Brayton Rankine cycles, high efficient zero-emission is expected with higher thermal efficiency than that combined conventional turbines. Basic technologies for oxygen-hydrogen developed Japan part research development at NEDO utilization. this study, dynamic model entire 1400 °C-class rationalization was constructed using Modelica-based tool Central Research Institute Electric Power Industry, Japan. The behavior considering preliminary load following control then characterized simulation results.
